How Does a Micro needling Treatment Work?

Dermarolling or collagen induction treatment, more commonly known as Micro needling treatment, dermabrasion, or needleless skin treatment, is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly penetrating the epidermis with small, inert needles. The small needles are made of microporous materials so that only very small punctures are made and these are absorbed into the skin, causing only minimal pain.

This is considered a safer method than injections for treating wrinkles and fine lines as it lacks the risks of an injection. The needles can be easily maintained in a cotton ball to avoid dropping them while the treatment is in progress.

Collagen is naturally produced by the body but as we age, the production of collagen decreases leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. To prevent or reduce wrinkles, the body tends to produce less collagen leading to sagging, wrinkled facial skin. Collagen induction treatment, such as Micro needling treatments, stimulates the body to produce more collagen, making the skin smoother and softer. This procedure helps improve elasticity, firmness, and reduces wrinkles.

During the RF Microneedling treatment, a series of small, thin needles are first introduced into the treatment area. This is followed by a topical anesthetic cream, which numbs the skin before moving on to the next step. A collagen gel is then applied onto the treatment area. This gel helps to keep the skin moisturized and prevents it from drying out. It also contains vitamins and aloe vera to help the treatment work faster.

After applying the collagen gel, the top layer of skin is gently peeled off to expose the desired area. Then, the needle is inserted and a small amount of cold sores are created. The cold sores can be treated with another topical anesthetic cream that is then applied to the treatment area. This process may take up to 20 minutes depending on how large the treatment area is.

A medication is then injected into the cold sore and this medication helps to reduce inflammation and pain associated with them. The skin is then covered with a thin layer of a topical, steroid-based gel. This gel helps to soothe the area and prevent cracking and redness. A Micro needling treatment may be repeated several times throughout the day for better, if results are visible.

The length of each treatment depends on the amount of skin needed to be treated. It is important to consult your healthcare provider before undergoing any type of skin treatment. He or she will be able to give you the most effective Micro needling treatment for the desired effect.
